Based on weather forecast information, there will be no rain, and the sky over the city of Palembang will be bright when the total solar eclipse occurs, South Sumatra Culture and Tourism Office Spokesperson Irene Camelyn Sinaga remarked here Saturday.
However, even if it rained, it would not be heavy and not interfere with the view of the total solar eclipse, she added.
Therefore, the local Culture and Tourism Office will take advantage of this event to attract more tourists to Palembang to witness this rare and interesting natural phenomenon, she said.
Furthermore, the Ampera Bridge over the Musi River in Palembang will become the culinary hub for viewers of the total solar eclipse, Irene added.
Several food stalls will be set up along the bridge for a multitude of people who will throng the location to observe the event, according to her.
She had coordinated with various agencies, including food vendors, to welcome the rare and beautiful natural phenomenon, Irene revealed.
All preparations had been made, including the food vendors, to serve thousands of people who will gather to witness the solar eclipse, she noted.
