"We will send an envoy to meet the new FIFA president to discuss PSSIs problem," President Joko Widodo stated here on Monday.
The issue should be immediately resolved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs through a working plan.
"With regard to lifting the ban on PSSI, it will soon be carried out after a meeting with FIFA. The meeting will discuss the reform agenda in the PSSI," the president noted.
The government has discussed the settlement of the conflict between the Youth and Sports Ministry and the PSSI.
The discussion was led by President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
The meeting was attended by Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi and Ad-Hoc Committee Chairman Agum Gumelar.
The president urged the youth and sports minister to review the lifting of the sanction imposed on the PSSI.
Earlier, the Youth and Sports Ministry had stated that coordination between the PSSI and the ministry was one of the considerations in lifting the sanction on the PSSI.
The ministry also requires PSSI to be transparent in its management and during the extraordinary congress.
Youth and Sports Ministry Spokesman Gatot S. Dewa Broto remarked that the ministry will not intervene in the election of the PSSI chairman.
"The government gives full freedom to voters," he said.
The team of the Sports Ministry on Wednesday conducted a study on lifting the sanction over PSSI following the instruction of President Widodo at the meeting with Vice President Kalla, Sports Minister Nahrawi, and chief of the PSSI Reform Ad-Hoc Committee Gumelar.
"The Sports Ministry stated that Indonesia has the responsibility to resolve the matters in the PSSI following the Asian Games 2018, SEA Games 2017, and some other football competitions," Gatot affirmed.
He claimed that the PSSI will draw reference to the Sports Ministrys decree in its letter to FIFA to lift the sanction (on Indonesia in FIFA) if the ministry has officially lifted the sanction on the national football association.
