Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - Chief of West Java Provincial Police Inspector General Jodie Rooseto, along with 569 police personnel, underwent a urine test on Thursday to detect whether narcotic substance is found in their bodies.

The urine test is aimed at anticipating the possibility of West Java Provincial Police personnel abusing drugs, spokesman for the West Java Provincial Police Adjunct Senior Commissioner Joko Bakhtiar said.

"The urine test is carried out to prevent drug abuse," he said.

He said the urine test is part of the operation which involves a team of profession and security division of the National Police Headquarters to combat drug syndicates.

Inspector General Rooseto took the first turn to undergo a urine test, and other top officials of the West Java Provincial Police followed suit.

Joko said Inspector General Rooseto has set an example to his subordinates by undergoing a urine test, a move which is expected to get a rid of drug abuse within the West Java Provincial Police.(*)
