... we can escort them."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta Police has banned masses from Takbeer parading around the Hotel Indonesia (H.I.) roundabout and the Central Jakarta Horse Statue roundabout area the night before Eid.

"Police officers will be patrolling the area," the head of the National Polices Public Relations Division Commissioner Awi Setiyono said in Jakarta today.

Awi said both areas current fall under the orderly traffic regions category, which means strict law enforcement will be observed for motorists who do not obey the rules.

The Commissioner also reminded the public to refrain from using an open-cabin vehicle during the Takbeer festivity to ensure passengers safety.

He also encouraged the public to celebrate the night before Eid within their local areas.

The Jakarta Police will also restrict the entry of those from outside the Jakarta region, who intend to take part in the Takbeer parade in the capital city, he added.

"Those who wish to take part in Takbeer should report themselves to the regional police, so we can escort them," said the former head of East Java police Public Relations Division.
