Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confiscated six apartments, a house, and four cars belonging to former chairman of Commission-D of the Jakarta City Council Mohamad Sanusi, who had been charged with money laundering.

"The KPK has confiscated Sanusis assets comprising four cars, six apartments, and one house," KPK spokesman Priharsa remarked here on Friday.

According to Priharsa, the six apartments confiscated by the KPK were located in North, Central, and South Jakarta, and the house was situated in Permata Regency in West Jakarta.

The four confiscated cars were a Jaguar, Audi, Fortuner, and Alphard.

Priharsa said the KPK had named Sanusi as a suspect in a money laundering case on June 30, 2016, in accordance with articles 3 and 4 of Law No. 8 of 2010 on the prevention of money laundering.

On Thursday, Sanusi underwent the first round of investigation by the KPK.

The KPK named Sanusi of the Gerindra faction a suspect in a money laundering case, and if proven guilty, is liable to face a maximum jail term of 20 years and a maximum fine of Rp10 billion.(*)
