On the evening of 19th September, the 3rd Silk Road International Film Festival (SRIFF) kicked off in the ancient city of Xi'an. The five-day film festival will showcase the charms of countries along the Silk Road and serve as an important bridge to promote the integration and development among cultures.

Under the theme of "Film in Development, Culture with Diversity", this year's SRIFF features diverse units including Film Awards, Film Screening, Film Forum, Film Market, Cultural Show and others. The event attracts 676 films from 35 countries including China, Russia, Japan, Germany, South Korea to participate among which Best Drama, Best Documentary Feature, Best Animated Feature, Best Actor, Best Actress and other awards will be selected.

Founded in 2014 and prioritizing countries along the Silk Road, SRIFF is alternately hosted by Xi'an and Fuzhou, two starting cities of "Belt and Road Initiative", and renowned as a major platform for exchange of film culture among countries along the Silk Road. This year's SRIFF marks the third of this event and will be held for five days from Sept. 19th to 23rd.
