"I was not asked many questions except queries such as whether I know this or that. However, later they detained me. We have not come to the main issue. I felt it was unfair," Fadilah said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained former health minister Siti Fadilah Supari on Monday evening for her alleged role in a case of corruption in the procurement of medical appliances in 2007.
Fadila, who wore a vest reading KPK Detainee, said after being a health minister from 2004 to 2009, she has felt that the law enforcement agencies have been meting out an unjust treatment to her.
"Five years after I took office, I felt something unfair. I hope Mr. Jokowi (President Joko Widodo) will be fair in upholding the law. Many major cases have gone unheeded. I am not really guilty but it seems that I was wrong. This is not fair. This is really discrimination," Fadilah complained as she left the KPK building here on Monday.
Fadilah further asked the media not to exaggerate the case merely because doing so helps divert public attention from more serious corruption cases.
She informed that she was questioned at the KPK building about her alleged involvement in this graft case.
"I was not asked many questions except queries such as whether I know this or that. However, later they detained me. We have not come to the main issue. I felt it was unfair," she observed.
The anti-graft body named Fadilah a suspect in the case in May 2015.
She is suspected of being involved in a graft case related to the procurement of medical appliances in 2007 in the first phase and the procurement of medical appliance buffer stock to address extraordinary needs in 2005. (*)
