"I received Rp1 billion from Ariesman. I do not remember the date. Later I received again Rp1 billion at the time I was arrested," Sanusi told the Jakarta corruption court here on Thursday.
He said he received the money from Ariesman via Mr. Trinanda Prihantoro, an Ariesmans subordinate and his own staff Gerry Prastia.
He said the money had nothing to do with debate on a draft law on layout of strategic area of the northern coast of Jakarta.
"The money was given by Ariesman to help me in my plan to contest the Jakarta gubernatorial election," he said.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) caught Sanusi red handed when receiving the money, which KPK said a bribe related to the debate on the draft law on the northern coast of Jakarta.(*)
