New Delhi (ANTARA News) - India will send a pharmaceutical team to Indonesia to study the possibility of investing in industry to produce pharmaceutical basic materials in Indonesia.

Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto said cooperation in pharmaceutical industry was one of the agenda in talks between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Indian leaders here.

Airlangga is in India to accompany President Jokowi in his two day state visit ending on Tuesday to India.

Jokowi discussed with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expansion of bilateral cooperation in economy including in pharmaceutical industry.

Indonesian wants Indian investors to build industry producing pharmaceutical basic materials.

Airlangga said foreign investors are allowed to wholly own project to produce the pharmaceutical active ingredient.

He said India wanted simplification of licensing procedure at the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervision Body.

Cooperation possibility in the automotive industry was also discussed at the talks of the leaders of the two countries.

Indonesia also asked India to carry out its study on ASEAN Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (ARCEP) to create "link value chain" with Indonesia especially in the efforts to boost industrial development.

Meanwhile, India wants Indonesia to enter Solar Alliance for futures renewable energy with Indonesian capability in producing solar batteries.

The visits to India was in return of one by the Indian Prime Minister to Indonesia in October, 2013.

India is Indonesias largest trading partner in South Asia and the 4th largest in the world. Trade between the two countries was valued at US$14.45 billion in 2015.

From India Jokowi and his entourage is to leave India on Wednesday for Iran in return of the visit by the Iranian president to Indonesian in 2015.

The presidential entourage also includes the First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Coordinating Minister for Economy Darmin Nasution, Minister/State Secretary Pratikno, and head of the Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Trikasih Lembong.
