Putussibau, W Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated an integrated Indonesia-Malaysia border post in Badau sub-district, Kapuas Hulu district in West Kalimantan province.

"There are three cross-border posts that have been built in West Kalimantan province, namely in Entikong sub-district, in Aruk village, and in Badau sub-district," Jokowi stated during the inauguration of the integrated Indonesia-Malaysia border post in Badau sub-district on Thursday.

He noted that the construction of cross-border posts has become the pride of the Indonesian people.

"This is my seventh visit to West Kalimantan, including the inauguration of the cross-border post," he revealed.

However, Jokowi directed the local government to build a modern market in the border area so that local people could develop their economy.

In addition, he also asserted that the border management should be carried out integrally to prevent smuggling, so that it would contribute to a clear revenue to the state.

West Kalimantan Governor Cornelis remarked that the inauguration of the cross-border post in Badau sub-district has long been awaited by the public, and it would be the pride for all Indonesians.

"The president and the cabinet paid close attention to the development of the post. The society in West Kalimantan province is very grateful and proud of the inauguration of the cross-border post," he stated.(*)
