He said Indonesia congratulated the government and the people of France over the peaceful election.
"Indonesia congratulated Emmanual Macron who has won the biggest votes," he said.
He said Indonesia hoped with Macrons election bilatetal relations between the two countries would increase.
"We hope strategic partnerships between Indonesia and France could be further stepped up," he said.
Emmanual Jean-Michael Frederic Macron who was born on December 21, 1977 won the election on Sunday with votes collected projected to reach around 65 percent.
The former civil servant, investment and pro-Europe politician defeated his only rival Marine Le Pen who garnered less than 35 percent.(*)
