The fisherman Dedy Bin Kasyah found the man identified as Papargyris Charalampos (27) at 17.00 local time on Monday afternoon floating in weak condition in the sea 40 miles from the coast of the sub-district of Dewantara, northern Aceh.
Dedy then brought the Greek crewman on board his boat to Dewantara. It took 5 hours to reach the land from the sea where Dedy found him.
In Dewantara, Dedy reported to police and the police then took the Greek man to the hospital of PT. Arun, in Lhokseumawe for medical treatment.
Police said Papargyris Charalampos was a crewman of a Greek ship carrying ammonia. He fell to the sea at 12.00 and he managed to stay afloat before Dedy found him five hours later.(*)
