Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo held a brief meeting at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase in East Jakarta on Thursday night, shortly after arriving back from his working visit to East Java and Central Java provinces.

The president arrived at the airbase at 06.15 p.m. local time and later held a brief meeting with a number of top officials at the airbases holding room.

Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto, Chief of the Presidential Staff Teten Masduki, and Chief of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Suhardi Alius were present at the meeting.

Also present at the meeting were Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Inspector General M Iriawan and Deputy Chief of the National Police Commissioner General Syafruddin.

Following the 20-minute meeting, the president went straight to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta where victims of the suicide bomb attack near Kampung Melayu bus terminal in East Jakarta were being treated.

The president shortcut his working visit to the two provinces following the bomb attack which killed five people and injured 11 others.

Three of those killed were police officers. They were 2nd Brigadier Taufan Tsunami, 2nd Brigadier Ridho Setiawan, and 2nd Brigadier Imam Gilang Adinata.

The injured are identified as 2nd Brigadier Ferri Nurcahya, 2nd Brigadier Yogi Aryo, 2nd Brigadier M Fauzi, 2nd Brigadier M Al Agung Pangestu, 2nd Brigadier Syukron, 2nd Brigadier Pandu Dwi Laksono, public transport drivers Agung and Damai, state-owned company employee Tasbik, and university students Susi A Fitriyani and Jihan.(*)
