Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The financial report of the Transport Ministry has been given an unqualified opinion by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), the fourth in successive years.

"I am glad with the report . I appreciate BPK for professionally wrapping up auditing the 2016 financial report of the transport ministry on government accountancy standard, Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said speaking after receiving the result of the auditing here on Friday.

Budi said the ministry has action plan to follow up on recommendations of the BPK.

"All recommendations of BPK would be duly implemented. For that , the ministry has an action plan. In fact part of the recommendations are already carried out such as in the payments to the state treasury of excess in payments, and corrections made in the 2016 financial report," he said.

Other action plans concern the issuance of the instruction of the transport ministry to all working units to pay attention to the BPKs findings and recommendations to hold training for related working units on administration of non tax state revenues(PNBP), provision and management of fixed assets, inventory taking over assets, intensifying internal control, payments to state treasury of excess in payments and the slapping of fine on delay and sanction on negligence of duty.

The action plan is to create good governance especially in the transport ministry, Budi said adding the ministry is committed to improving its performance.(*)
