"Blaming each other, engaging in mutual slander, and spreading fake news on social media are unproductive actions. Such acts do not contribute to the development of the country," Jokowi dsid.Malang, E Java (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expects Indonesians to not engage in acts of blasphemy and slander against each other and spread fake information, especially through social media, but instead to be productive in developing Indonesia.
"Blaming each other, engaging in mutual slander, and spreading fake news on social media are unproductive actions. Such acts do not contribute to the development of the country," Jokowi noted during his speech while inaugurating the State Senior High School of Taruna Nala of East Java Province in Kedungkandang Sub-district, Malang City, on Saturday morning.
He stated that Indonesia will enjoy a demographic bonus in 2030 that should channel the nations power to optimism and positive energy, and society should not mutually divide the nations unity.
Jokowi also reminded educators and teachers to nurture Indonesian students to become a productive generation in the academic field and possess a positive attitude and national character.
"Please prepare them (Indonesian students) early to face real-world challenges, the competitive world, and competition. Prepare them to advance to higher education in leading universities throughout the country. Prepare them early to harbor ambitions to build this country when they grow up," he remarked.
Reflecting on the international community that has developed technologies in the fields of space, rapid transportation systems, shipping, and electronic finance, Jokowi emphasized that Indonesia must catch up by improving its human resources.
During his working visit to East Java Province, Jokowi will also distribute Smart Indonesia cards to thousands of students in Malang District.
In addition, Jokowi is scheduled to attend the study of Ramadan 1438 Hijriah to be organized by the provinces Muhammadiyah leadership at the Dome building of the Muhammadiyah University of Malang in Lowokwaru Sub-district, Malang City.(*)
