"It is likely that the new suspect will be named soon," Chief of the KPK Agus Rahardjo said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Agus Rahardjo has hinted that the commission will soon name a new suspect in an alleged graft case related to the procurement of e-ID cards nationwide.
"It is true," he said, after inducting three KPK advisers at the KPK building, here on Thursday.
But the KPK chief refused to divulge when exactly the new suspect will be announced.
"It is likely that the new suspect will be named soon," he added.
Earlier, KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah noted that the anti-graft body is focusing on probing the alleged involvement of politicians in the graft case.
"In-depth probe of the political cluster is one of the important parts in the e-ID case. During court proceedings, a series of events allegedly involving a number of politicians, bureaucrats, and private parties has begun to surface," he remarked.
Agus further declined to mention which group the new suspect will come from.
He stated that the e-ID case will soon be completed because it belongs to one of high-profile cases.
"We will complete it soon," he revealed.
On Wednesday (July 5), the KPK interrogated Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, North Sulawesi Governor Olly Dondokambey, former chief of faction group of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Abdul Malik Haramain, and member of the House of Representatives Commission II Arif Wibowo of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) faction as witnesses in the case against Andi Agustinus alias Andi Narogong, who has been named a suspect in the case.
In their indictment, KPK public prosecutors have also mentioned the names of those receiving the flow of funds from the procurement of e-ID cards nationwide.
The KPK has also named former director general of demography and vital statistics at the Home Affairs Ministry Irman and the ministrys director of demographic information management Sugiharto. (*)
