Pertaminas Vice President Corporate Communication Adiatma Sardjito said here, Monday, data on high quality sales, both for gasoline and diesel oil, has shown significant increases.
"The increase in the sale of high quality fuel oils has indicated that Pertaminas move has been on the track," he said.
Pertamina, he continued, has committed itself to meet consumers demand and at the same time, global demand to provide environment friendly fuel oils.
Adiatma took the example of diesel oil sales that has recorded a significant difference. During January to July 2016, the lower quality diesel oil sales reached 98.9 percent of the total sales, while the higher quality Pertamina Dex and Dexlite sale only reached 0.9 percent and 0.2 percent respectively.
However, during the same period of 2017, the sales composition of the products have changed to 96.8 percent for lower quality diesel oil, 2 percent for Dexlite, and 1.2 percent for Pertamina Dex.
Dexlite sales from January to July 2017 jumped almost 1,000 percent compared to the same period of 2016, while Pertamina Dex sales increased 57.6 percent.
"The data on fuel oil sales and the shift in fuel oil consumption has shown increased awareness on the part of consumers to use higher quality fuel oils which are more friendly to the environment," he remarked.
Meanwhile, RON 90 gasoline (Pertalite) sales and RON 92 gasoline (Pertamax) sales have also recorded significant increase.
Pertalite sale during the January-July 2017 period sharply increased by 363.7 percent compared to the same period of 2016.
"The increase in Pertalite sales is more than three times," he added.
While Pertamax sales during the period has increased 53.7 percent compared to that of the same period last year.
"In total, the sales of high quality fuel oils of Pertamax Series (Pertamax, Pertamax Racing, and Pertamax Turbo) has increased 60.9 percent compared to 2016," he disclosed.
During the January-July 2016 period, Premium (lower quality fuel oil) sales reached 79.6 percent of the total sales, while Pertamax Series has recorded at 11.4 percent and Pertalite 9 percent.
"But in the January-July 2017 period, of the total gasoline sales of 18.8 million kiloliters, the portion of Premium has dropped sharply to only 41.6 percent, while Pertalite rose drastically to 40.6 percent and Pertamax Series 17.8 percent," he said.
Fuel oil sales for all types during the January-July 2017 period increased 5.7 percent compared to the same period of 2016. Gasoline sales has increased 2.9 percent while diesel oil sales increased 12.8 percent.(*)
