Bogor, W.Java (ANTARA News) - Chairman of the Afghan High Peace Council Mohammed Karim Khalili has sought Indonesia`s help to resolve the conflict in his country.

"We are seeking Indonesia`s help to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan," Khalili noted here on Tuesday.

Khalili, who brought along dozens of delegates from the Afghan Supreme Council of Peace, held a luncheon with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the Bogor Presidential Palace in Bogor, West Java.

Khalili felt immense pride to bring along 35 members of the Supreme Council of Peace to meet with the Indonesian leaders.

"I am also very happy to be able to meet with His Excellency the President, and we discussed about Afghanistan`s request and a hope for peace," he revealed.

Afghanistan comprehends Indonesia`s crucial role in solving conflicts and creating peace and stability around the world. Hence, the country has sought Indonesia`s help to realize peace in the country.

Khalili was pleased to see that President Jokowi had directly accepted and acknowledged the request.

He expressed hope that in future, Afghanistan and Indonesia would build closer relations and that peace in Afghanistan would be restored soon.
