"A meeting was held with the Malaysian government, and an agreement was reached that the Indonesian government will be allowed to open several Community Learning Centers in Sarawak and other regions," Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy noted here on Saturday.
He said the CLC are expected to be completed next year.
CLC are not only built in plantation areas but also in urban areas as several Indonesians work here.
Muhadjir said CLC are junior high schools, hence the government plans to build senior and vocational high schools in Sabah.
"We have obtained the permits. If God willing, next year, we will start building the schools," Muhadjir said.
Indonesia will also build vocational schools in the border areas of Indonesia and Malaysia.
