Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated four sports arenas that were completed for the 2018 Asian Games in Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta.

"In the name of God, the most loving and merciful, I am officially inaugurating the hockey field, archery field, and ABC field in the Gelora Bung Karno area," the president stated in Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, on Saturday.

In addition to the three arenas, President Widodo also inspected the indoor Aquatic stadium.

During the event, the president reviewed several images and data related to the development of the four arenas that were built using funds worth Rp370 billion.

Moreover, while reviewing the Gelora Bung Karno Aquatic stadium, the president also signed the inauguration inscription of the infrastructure.

Minister of Public Works and People`s Housing Basuki Hadimuljono stated that the government is building nine other sports arenas, dedicated for the Asian Games.

The total budget provided by the government to build 13 arenas is Rp6.2 trillion.

According to Hadimuljono, the construction of all sports arenas for the Asian Games will be completed by December 2017.
