Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The National Police`s Counterterrorism Squad Densus 88 arrested three suspected terrorists in East Java province on Saturday.

They were arrested in three different places, Chief of the National Police`s Public Information Bureau Senior Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal said in a short message text.

The three suspected terrorists were identified by their initials as PDP, MMG, and KRA.

He stated that PDP, who is believed to be a member of Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid (JAT) group, was arrested on Sumorame highway in Sidoarjo district.

PDP alias Ipung has also allegedly been involved in a plan to bomb a police building in the East Java provincial capital of Surabaya in 2014, he revealed.

"He is believed to have bought and prepared materials to make bombs," he added.

MMG alias alias Abu Faros alias Deni was arrested on Gading alley at Kedinding Lor Street in Surabaya, while KRA alias Kiki alias Abu Ukasah was arrested Sawahan Highway in Malang district.

Iqbal noted that both Abu Faros and Abu Ukasah are members of Abu Jandal network. They are believed to have joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group and become foreign terrorist fighters.
