Indonesian authorities have established an exclusion zone around Mount Agung and have evacuated at least 70 thousand local residents.
The government is contributing A$600,000 to help meet the needs of 17 thousand people who have been displaced from their homes, including the provision of clean drinking water, shelter, sanitation, and medical care. This assistance will also support farmers and workers who have lost their livelihoods.
