Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State lender PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Tbk will build a tower called Menara BRI Gatot Subroto in South Jakarta at a cost of Rp1 trillion.

Chief Executive of BRI Suprajarto said the tower would be built by state-owned construction company PT Pembangunan Perumahan Persero Tbk (PTPP).

Suprajarto hopes that the construction cost of the new building could be cut lower although PTPP estimated the cost could be as high as Rp1.4 trillion.

The tower would be built over a 8,589 square meter plot of land with the building having a floor space of 95,437 square meters. The tower would be a 37-floor building not including 5 basement floors.

Suprajarto said the new building would house new BRI offices needed for the growing number of the bank employers.

Suprajarto said the Menara BRI Gatot Subroto would serve as a new landmark in Jakarta.
