Jakarta (ANTARA) -

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has called on all National Police (Polri) personnel to uphold public trust by showing dedication in their duties and genuine concern for people in need.

Speaking at the Bhayangkara Day event commemorating Polri’s 79th anniversary, he repeatedly emphasized the importance of protecting the public, especially disadvantaged groups.

"Please maintain the public’s trust. I repeat, you must always prioritize the common good above all else. I again warn you against letting the people down," Prabowo told officers at the National Monument (Monas) square in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He underscored that police must consistently side with the people and strive to understand their suffering.

"Indonesian police officers must be present among the people — feel their ordeals, their hardships, and hear their cries," he added.

Prabowo noted that the police play a vital role in realizing Indonesia’s vision of becoming a developed nation free from poverty, hunger, and injustice.

"History has shown that no country has succeeded without a strong and resilient police force. In this regard, I and my predecessors share the same view on the importance of a robust police institution," he said.

He also urged attendees to remember and honor those who founded the National Police on July 1, 1946.

President Prabowo presided over the Bhayangkara Day ceremony, which featured a parade of 25 police technologies, including humanoid robots, dog-shaped robots, tank-shaped robots, and agricultural drones.
