Ponorogo, E Java (ANTARA News) - Two bodies have been retrieved from the site of a landslide at Gondang, Tumpuk village, Sawoo sub-district, Ponorogo District, in East Java Province.

The victims, Ria Lestasi (23) and her daughter, Venesia Aulia Andriani (2 months old) were dead after being buried by the landslide which hit their home on Sunday evening.

A joint rescue team comprising police and military officers, managed to evacuate the two bodies on Sunday at 11 p.m local time.

The landslide was triggered by incessant heavy rain that had fallen since Sunday at noon.
