Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Office in West Java Province is preparing all its personnel to anticipate the disastrous impact of the 6.4-magnitude earthquake that rattled the neighboring province of Banten on Tuesday.

"Our personnel will go on standby around the clock," spokesman for the Basarnas Office, Joshua Banjarnahor, said in a short message text.

Based on a report received from Basarna officers in the field, they had not found any damage in West Java. They will keep monitoring the impact of the earthquake, he stated.

"We have not found any damage yet. We will report further developments later on," he noted.

A powerful earthquake, which struck on Tuesday at 1:34 p.m. local time, was located at 7.21 degrees southern latitude and 105.91 degrees eastern longitude, 81 kilometers southwest of Lebak district, Banten province, and at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to Kaprawi, head of the Lebak disaster mitigation office.

The tremor did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami, and there were no reports of causality in the disaster.

In Banten province, the earthquake reportedly damaged at least 105 homes, located in the sub-districts of Bayah, Panggarangan, Lebak Gedong, Cimarga, and Sajira.

The earthquake was also felt strongly in Jakarta, West Java, and Lampung.
