West Jakarta police Chief Senior Commissioner Hengky Haryadi said here that the illegal drugs were seized during operations in the past four months.
In addition to marijuana and methamphetamine, the police have also destroyed 1,916 ecstasy pills and 280 Happy Five pills.
The police have detained 27 suspects in the drug cases, Hengky stated.
They could face maximum jail sentence of 20 years and life sentence to death penalty under the article 132 of the law on narcotics, he added.
West Jakarta Mayor Anas Efendi has applauded the police efforts to disclose illegal drug cases.
With the drug distribution in Jakarta increasing at an alarming rate, the police would need to take stern measures in the fight against narcotics, he remarked.
"We thank the police for their efforts to seize the huge amount of (confiscated) drugs and for taking stern measures against the perpetrators," he noted.
