"We have tried our best," noted Indonesia`s Ministry of Tourism Deputy Marketing Director Nia Niscaya after attending ITB Awards ceremony in Berlin on Sunday evening.
Indonesia is the third rank after respectively Thailand and India, but the archipelago country had become the first for two years in a row: 2016 and 2017.
The Indonesian pavilion at the ITB Berlin was themed maritime culture, and especially highlighting Balinese architecture, such as traditional gate "Candi Bentar", Meru Tower, clock tower "Menara Kul-kul", paddy fields terrace, and many others.
During the exhibition on March 7-10, Indonesia had made nearly Rp10 trillions worth of business transactions. The amount surpassed the 2016 and 2017`s results, respectively Rp6.5 trillions and Rp8 trillions.
The ITB Berlin is the world`s largest travel trade fair. It provides a unique opportunity to learn about different countries and regions all over the globe in one place.
The 2018 exhibition area has increased from 580 to 150,000 square metres, the number of trade visitors from 250 to over 10,000. With a total number of 180,000 visitors, the ITB Berlin is a centre of attraction for the tourism industry and influences travel experiences worldwide.
