"I do not want to hear the same complaint from the people again and again," he said when distributing land certificates to people in Serang, Banten province in West Java.
He said land would be more secure legally after it is certified as no other person than put in the certificate could claim its ownership.
In view of that he has urged especially the minister of agrarian affairs/head of national land agency to quickly produce more land certificates to achieve the target.
He said a total of 126 million plots of land should have had certificates but 51 million of them had been certified.
The president said the target of land certification this year was set at seven million plots of land and it would be increased to nine million plots of land in 2019.
"I have given an order that by 2023 all plots of land in Banten would have been certified," he said.
President Joko Widodo said officials had to find any way to achieve the target such as by working over time or whatever,
President Joko Widodo handed over 5,000 certificates to people from a number districts in Banten.
To recipients he appealed to keep the certificates well so that they will not ne lost or damaged.
On the occasion he also called on the people to preserve the nstional unity and solidarity.
"Our diversity is a blessing. Singapore only has four ethnic groups while Indonesia 714, It is lucky we have `Pancasila` (state ideology) that unites us," he said.
He said differences in choices in the coming elections must not lead to divisions.
President Joko Widodo expressed concern over the spread of hoaxes in the social media including about him being reported as a communist.
"We have seen a lot of hoaxes in the social media. (It was reported) President Jokowi is PKI (communist) while I was born in 1961 and PKI was dissolved in 1965. How could a three year old boy become a communist. I have tried to find the perpetrator but have not found him. If I find would crush him," he said.
President Joko Widodo advised people to be very careful and not choose a wrong leader in the next elections as a mistake may cause losses.
A total of 171 regions in the country will conduct elections to choosr provincial governors, district heads and city mayors this year while ext year tge country will hold legislative and prrsidential elections.
