"Today, 1,983,568 high school students have appeared for the UN, with the first subject being Indonesian Language," Inspector General of the Education and Culture Ministry Daryanto noted here Monday while reviewing the implementation of UN in High School 45 Jakarta.
Some 1,812,565 students, or 91 percent, who appeared for the Computer-Based National Exams (UNBK) came from 18,353 educational units or similar. Meanwhile, the remaining 171,003 students appeared for the paper and pencil-based national examination.
Daryanto noted that until Sunday evening (Apr 8), coordination for the implementation of the UNBK had run smoothly.
"No problem was faced in Jakarta, and we can say that about 95 percent institutions are synchronized," he stated.
At the senior high school level, provinces that entirely held UNBK comprised Aceh, Banten, Bangka Belitung, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Gorontalo, West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Lampung, West Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara.
Some of the principal differences in the implementation of the UN 2018 as compared to the previous year include a brief questionnaire in mathematics.
Digital signatures will be used in the certificates for the national exam results, and fees for proctor and exam supervisors at educational units will utilize the budget allocated for the school operational grants.
