"Therefore, I wish to urge the students, as part of young people of the world, who are here today and also the young people throughout the nation to become true creativepreneurs and to bring forward news ideas and innovation solutions".
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - London School of Public Relations (LSPR) in Jakarta has motivated its students and graduates to become creative and innovative entrepreneurs through various learning media.

"The sense of being an entrepreneur and the quality of an entrepreneur should be built into the minds of the students as earlier as ever. The entrepreneurial mindset will grow even if they are small or big businesses," LSPR Jakarta's Founder and Director Prita Kemal Gani said, while delivering remarks at the launch of Center for ASEAN Creativepreneurship Studies (CACS) in Jakarta, on Wednesday.

The center is built as a learning support institution to prepare students to become creative business players.

According to Prita, many entrepreneurs need the help of communication experts to assist them in promoting their business to the public. It aims to build understanding and attract public attention about products and services sold and the companies.

"We should remember that people like to buy from people they like. Hence, students who study communication science need to learn about entrepreneurship too," she stated.

She continued that students who study communication science as well as entrepreneurship studies will soon become successful entrepreneurs as they have two qualities, namely entrepreneurial skills and communication skills.

The Presidential Regulation No. 6 of 2015 states that Indonesia`s creative economy is one of the key business sectors that need to be encouraged, strengthened, and promoted in order to boost national economic growth.

Prita mentioned that Bekraf (the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency) has predicted the growth of the creative sector in Indonesia to reach 6.25 percent in 2018 and employ 16.70 million people.

"In Indonesia, culinary sector will lead the change, followed by fashion, application, film, and music," she remarked, adding that such condition is the reason for LSPR to establish the creativepreneurship center that motivates students to become entrepreneurs in creative industries.

She explained that in the 4.0 digital age, social media and technology play an important role in business. "E-commerce is booming, and trading becomes boundless, connecting one business to another in real time. We are the citizens of the world, and so we have to work together and contribute together," Prita asserted.

Therefore, the presence of the creativepreneurship studies center is expected to prepare intelligent students who will be graduates with competence in creative business, so as to support government development programs and contribute to the improvement of people's welfare.

The center is also expected to encourage young Indonesian entrepreneurs to connect with their counterparts in the ASEAN region and advance Indonesia`s creative works globally.

"Therefore, I wish to urge the students, as part of young people of the world, who are here today and also the young people throughout the nation to become true creativepreneurs and to bring forward news ideas and innovation solutions," Prita explained.

The CACS prepares a number of programs for students, including business incubation programs (business coaching clinics), family businesses mentorship, and building an alumni entrepreneurship network.

The LSPR Career Center noted that the absorption rate of LSPR Jakarta graduates in business industry reaches 90 percent of the total number of graduates.

As part of the launch of the center, LSPR also held a talk show entitled `Encouraging economic growth in Indonesia through creativepreneurship in the ASEAN region.

The theme is discussed by RI's Ambassador to the People's Republic of China and Mongolia, Djauhari Oratmangun, and the Ambassador of the People`s Republic of China to ASEAN, Huang Xilian, with a keynote speech delivered by the Director General of ASEAN Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Jose Tavares.

The launch of the study center and talk show was attended by the Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, Kazuo Sunaga; the Director of Community Affairs for the ASEAN Secretariat, Lee Yoong Yoong; and Acting Chief of Mission for the U.S Mission ASEAN, Peter Thorin.
