"We hope with the support from all the people of Indonesia and anticipatory and mitigation measures that are taken by the army (TNI) and the police, as well as ministries and state institutions, the travel advisories will not be extended," Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Puan Maharani, stated after a coordination meeting on Asian Games security with a number of ministers and representatives from ministries and state institutions here, on Thursday.
She noted that travel advisories were produced as an implementation of responsibility of countries that produced them for their citizens in Indonesia or who are going to go to the country.
"We have asked the fourth deputy for security of the Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee (Inasgoc) to coordinate with TNI and police as well as ministries and state institutions," she remarked.
Maharani appealed to the community and mass media to arouse the spirit of optimism with regard to the country`s readiness to stage the event.
"In line with the agreement made between Indonesia and the Olympic Council of Asia in the latest coordination meeting, we have been ready to hold the Asian Games," she remarked.
Some of foreign countries, such as Britain, the US, Singapore, and Australia, have issued travel advisories for their citizens in connection with the suicide bombing attacks in Surabaya in the past few days.
In their advisories, citizens of the countries in Indonesia are advised to monitor local media for their update on the terror attack.
