Pekanbaru, Riau (ANTARA News) - The National Police`s counterterrorism squad, Densus 88, arrested three suspected terrorists and seized four home-made bombs while conducting a raid on Riau University (Unri) campus on Saturday.

"The three suspects that we have arrested were at Unri campus," Chief of the Riau Provincial Police Inspector General Nandang said in a press briefing at the Riau Provincial Police Headquarters here on Saturday night.

The three people, identified by their initials as Z, B and K are alumni of Riau University, he said adding they graduated from the university in 2002, 2004 and 2005 respectively.

Z graduated from the school of tourism, while B and K graduated from the school of communication and state administration at the university, he said.

Nandang said Z has assembled the home-made bombs.

"They had spent the night at the boarding house of the university`s nature lovers community and assembled the bombs there," he said.

He said the suspected terrorists had planned to set off the homemade bombs at the House of Representatives (DPR) building in Jakarta and the Riau Provincial Legislative Assembly (DPRD) Building in Pekanbaru.

But he refused to divulge whether the plan to set off the bombs at the DPR Building in Jakarta had something to do with the passage of anti-terrorism law.
