Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Presidential Palace confirmed it had received the letter of resignation of Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Yudi Latif on Friday morning.

"Latif resigned on June 8, 2018, but his resignation letter to the president was dated June 7, 2018," Presidential Special Staff for Communication Johan Budi remarked at the Presidential Palace complex.

However, Johan noted that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had not read out the letter of resignation received from Latif. This is since it is a higher level of activity than the earlier Presidential Work Unit for Development of the Pancasila Ideology (UKP-PIP) to become an equivalent body with the ministry.

"Of course, resignation is everyone`s right, but until now, the president has not responded," Budi remarked.

Earlier, on Friday morning, Latif, through his "Yudi Latif Dua" Facebook account, announced to the public his resignation from the post of BPIP head.

Extending his gratitude to the public, Latif announced his resignation by describing the work for a year since the establishment of the BPIP, which was formerly called the UKP-PIP.

Latif then pointed to several obstacles encountered, including the slow execution of budgets, absence of a direct execution authority when the BPIP was still called the UKP-PIP, limited ability to optimize the creation of manpower, unacceptable financial rights of all personnel in the Board of Directors, and implementation of work for a year.

At the end of his announcement, Latif said he had resigned, as he felt the need for a new leadership of the UKP-PIP body that had transformed into the BPIP.

Latif then expressed his deepest gratitude for the participation of all parties in mainstreaming Pancasila in the day-to-day lives of the people.

"Furthermore, it must be said that the transformation of UKP-PIP into BPIP has brought about a major change in the organizational structure, role, and function of the institution," he added.
