"The flow of homecoming traffic this year is smoother, although some sections still open functionally for the homecoming journey," he noted in a written statement received here on Monday.
Soesatyo remarked that the result of the hard work of Widodo`s government had been felt by the people.
"I believe travelers have felt the difference. My message is they must remain alert while driving on the toll road," he remarked.
Soesatyo and several state officials, including Indonesia Police Chief General Tito Karnavian, Military Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and several cabinet ministers inspected the homecoming situation in West, Central, and East Java on Sunday.
They conducted the inspection aboard a helicopter. Four helicopters departed from Jakarta`s Halim Perdanakusuma airbase at 8 a.m. local time.
They first visited the police post in Cikopo, West Java, where they were briefed by West Java regional police command`s Chief Inspector General Agung Budi Maryoto about the situation of flow of traffic that had increased but was smooth.
