"I have called the Turkish minister personally over the successful (implementation of the) general elections there," Minister Marsudi stated at the Merdeka Palace here, Monday.
More than 56 million people were eligible to vote in Sunday`s twin presidential and parliamentary polls, held for the first time on the same day in Turkey, Aljazeera.com reported.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been re-elected as Turkey`s president, while an alliance led by his ruling party also won a majority in parliament.
The main rival of President Erdogan remarked during this weekend`s presidential election on Monday that he accepted the results.
"I accept these election results," Muharrem Ince of the Republican People`s Party noted.
Ince urged Erdogan to be a leader of all Turks, adding that Erdogan should "represent 80 million."
"You are the president for us all," Ince told Erdogan.
The re-elected president has flown from Istanbul to the Turkish capital where he delivered an election victory speech to a cheering crowd outside the headquarters of his ruling Justice and Development Party.
"This election`s victor is democracy, and this election`s victory is national will," Erdogan remarked in the early hours of Monday
"The country will look at its future with so much more trust than it did this morning," he stated at the Ankara rally.
