he was amazed at the development and preparations for the 2018 Asian Games facilities and infrastructure.
"Mature preparation and development of sports facilities for the Asian Games, conducted by the Indonesian government, is truly amazing," Saddiq remarked.
After inspecting the Sriwijaya Sports Plaza here, the Malaysian youth and sports affairs minister stated that all preparations for the Asian Games are very good, as many countries in Asia will join the international sporting events in Jakarta and Palembang.
According to him, the 2018 Asian Games will also be able to strengthen the bilateral relations of Indonesia and Malaysia.
Further, he noted that Asian Games sports competition is not just a matter of to win or to lose, but to improve the spirit of unity among nations.
"The unique thing of the sports is their most powerful tool to unify the different race, religion, even the country, and thus, we must not forget the eternal brotherhood and not see who wins and loses," Saddiq said.
Saddiq was introduced by President Joko Widodo while reviewing the plaza.
"This is Malaysian Youth and Sports Minister, if I call him `bro` Saddiq," Jokowi said when introducing Saddiq.
During his visit to South Sumatra, the President reviewed the Jakabering Sports City arena.
