Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA News) - PT Angkasa Pura II, operator of the Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) international airport in Tangerang, Banten Province, will create several mini sport facilities at the airport, in order to enliven the 2018 Asian Games.

"There will be mini sport facilities around the terminal as an effort to enliven the Asian Games. These sport facilities can be used by service users," Executive General Manager of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, M Suriawan Wakan, stated here on Saturday.

He explained that mini sports facilities that will be prepared include table tennis and billiards.

In addition, PT Angkasa Pura II has been intensely coordinating with the Immigration authorities by providing a special counter for athletes to facilitate the immigration process.

Suriawan also noted that PT Angkasa Pura II has been coordinating with the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police to manage the traffic flow in order to avoid congestion.

"We are very proud to help make Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia a success. We hope this can contribute to the achievement of athletes, because they can practice better, "he remarked.

The 18th Asian Games 2018 will be held from Aug 18 to Sept 2 in the cities of Jakarta and Palembang (South Sumatra).

Earlier, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Community (Kombatta) declared support to ensure the success of the 18th Asian Games.

Speaking at the Hangar 4 of the Garuda Maintenance Facility (GMF) AeroAsia on Thursday (July 12), the airport`s director of arrival, departure & hospitality, INASGOC Indra Gamulya, expressed her gratitude to Kombatta for its support for the 18th Asian Games.

"Let us express our deep gratitude and appreciation to our colleagues grouped in Kombatta for their initiatives. We hope that the services at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport will give visitors a good image of Indonesia," he asserted.

The support is aimed at demonstrating the commitment of Kombatta, as the supporting element of the airport, to welcome the Asian Games 2018.
