Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Health Minister Nila Farid Moeloek continues to remind the Indonesian prospective hajj pilgrims to maintain their health ahead of departure to the Holy Land.

The minister remarked in a written statement, received here on Sunday, that the prospective pilgrims should stay in shape and be well-prepared before leaving for the Holy Land.

Moeloek reminded them that regular health checks are important to maintain health conditions long before the day of departure.

Moreover, the condition of Indonesian pilgrims is mostly high risk, because most of them are elderly and vulnerable to a disease, such as hypertension, diabetes, and others.

"At the time of departure, the health condition of prospective pilgrims must be well preserved. If there is a disease that is found and treatable, we handle it. For hypertension patients, they can be treated with regular medication. These things we need to remind them" Moeloek said.

The Ministry of Health will also send a Quick Motion Team (TGC) which will follow up in case of emergency in the Holy Land. There are also health service facilities for Hajj Health Office of Indonesia (KKHI) in Jeddah, Mecca and Medina.

The Ministry of Health not only send health workers from Indonesia, but also employ seasonal health workers in Saudi Arabia, especially for wukuf worship.

"For example, at the time of wukuf, all pilgrims have to do wukuf in Arafah. If they lie in the hospital, we must bring them to Arafah. We take the pilgrims on the bus, positioned one-on-one to Arafah and then back to the hospital, it`s called Safari wukuf," explained the minister of health.
