"Our expectation is our team will perform better and grab more gold medals than in 2014 Asian Games," Yuni said here on Monday.
In 2014 Asia Games in South Korea, Indonesia won two gold from men`s and women`s doubles and a silver and a bronze from mixed doubles.
Yuni, who was one of the star performer winning the Uber Cup trophy in 1994, said with the strength and the status of being the host, Indonesia should be able to achieve the best result.
She said most potential to win gold are from the men`s doubles of Kevin Sanjaya/Marcus Gideon, women`s doubles of Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu, and mixed doubles of Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir.
?The chances in other sectors both doubles and singles are still quite big, especially playing in own city in Jakarta," she said.
The Asian Games will be held in Jakarta and Palembang.
Yuni, who was also a silver medalist in the Asian Games in Hiroshima, Japan in 1994, called on all Indonesian players to keep themselves in their best form to be ready to face good players from other countries.
She said the teams from Japan and Taiwan had made much progress to become a potential threat to Indonesian team.
"Our team must never underestimate teams from other countries especially China, although I am confident we can win every gold contested in badminton," Yuni, now a presenter and badminton commentator in a TV station in the country, said.
Early this month, the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has selected 20 badminton athlete to make up the Indonesian team to play in the Asia`s biggest sport event. The team consist of 10 men and 190 women.
Badminton games will be played at the Senayan Sports Center in Jakarta from 19 to 28 August including men`s and women`s teams, individuals that men`s singles, women`s singles, men`s doubles, women`s doubles and mixed doubles.
