Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - State-run oil firm PT Pertamina (Persero) has assured that fuel oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) distribution in Bali and Sumbawa in West Nusa Tenggara were not obstructed by the earthquake that hit the region on Sunday.

"The earthquake that hit Bali and Sumbawa did not hinder the distribution of fuel oil and LPG in both Bali and West Nusa Tenggara. Everything has been running normally," the company`s Unit Manager of Communication and CSR Jatimbalinus Rifky Rakhman Yusuf said in a statement here on Wednesday.

He expressed hope that the public would help monitor fuel oil distribution and submit a report if they encounter any problem in distribution.

PT Pertamina`s marketing operation region V, through the West Nusa Tenggara Disaster Management Agency, has dispatched humanitarian aid for victims of the 6.4-magnitude earthquake in Sembalun subdistrict.

Sembalun subdistrict was the worst affected region, covering villages of Sembalun Bumbung, Sembalun Lawang, Sajang, Bilok Petung, Sembalun, and Sembalun Timba Gading.

"We have conducted an initial survey and carried basic needs. We hope that all victims could get what they need. We have also worked in coordination with the team in the field to take care of other needs," he remarked.

Pertamina would build a shelter for evacuees in a strategic location.

"We will dispatch more humanitarian aid for the victims," Rifky added.

Pertamina has continued to work in coordination with local authorities to get updated information.
