Winter, a participant from Australia, told Antara on the sidelines of a "Welcome Ceremony" here on Thursday that he had been stunned by the beautiful natural scenery and the sea while entering the Indonesian eastern province.
"We saw dolphins swimming in groups and also a whale when we entered East Nusa Tenggara. It was extraordinary," he remarked.
Winter, who took part in the event along with his wife and brother, stated that while passing through several islands, he was able to see natural white sand stretching along the coastlines.
He noted that after touring Kupang, the capital of the province, he would visit Rote to enjoy the waves and surf in Nemberala waters.
"We love surfing, and we will go to Rote from here," he added.
Another participant, Patrick from Switzerland, shared his impression, saying that beaches along the coastlines of the islands in the region were very clean.
"It is a natural beauty and is indeed very impressive. The sea is clean and very beautiful. I also had an opportunity to dive in the sea for a while," he explained.
It took seven days for him and his wife to arrive in the province as winds were less along the way to Kupang.
"This is the first time we are in Indonesia, particularly Kupang. We will stay here for four days before leaving for Alor and other tourist destinations in East Nusa Tenggara," he revealed.
