Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - The arena preparation of five sports that will be used in the 18th Asian Games in West Java Province has reached 100 percent so it is ready to hold the international level competition, an official said.

"Thank God for football, the development is already 100 percent. Now is how its beauty is laid out. (Preparation) of four arenas for football has been settled, including for the training ground," West Java Provincial Secretary, Iwa Karniwa said here on Friday.

According to him, four arenas in West Java that will be used for the soccer matches namely Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung District, Pakansari in Bogor District, Patriot in Bekasi District, and Wibawamukti Stadium in Karawang District.

Meanwhile, for bicycle racing or road race, the 145-kilometer route that crosses Purwakarta, Subang and Karawang is also 100 percent ready.

"The traffic management is organized when the game is running. So far the West Java Regional Police Chief has set the hours for the

race, used for three hours. But three hours before and after the race has also been arranged," he said.

In addition, the paragliding sport branch will be held at Puncak in Bogor District and the preparation has reached 100 percent then the access road can also be used comfortably during the match.

"Then preparation for the Canoe Slalom sport at the Bendung Rentang in Majalengka District has also reached 100 percent. Including the preparation of the athletes and official mobilization," said Iwa.

He added the road improvements in Subang for the Mountain Bike sport had reached 100 percent. Access road improvements were carried out using CSR funds from Bank BJB.

"So overall, the preparation of the Asian Games in West Java, has 100 percent completed. Now it`s just the preparation of the Asian Games flame torch," he explained.

Indonesia will host the Asian Games for the second time after Jakarta was selected as the venue for the Asian sporting event for the first time in 1962.

Jakarta and the South Sumatran Provincial capital of Palembang will host the largest Asian sporting events from August 18 to September 2, 2018.

The games will be attended by 45 countries, and will feature 462 events in 40 sports, of which 32 are Olympic sports and eight are non-Olympic events.

The Olympic sports are Aquatics, Athletics, Fencing, Weightlifting, Basketball, Handball, Badminton, Baseball/Softball, Cycling, Equestrian, Golf, Wrestling, Hockey, Judo, Karate, Canoeing and Kayaking, Sailing, Shooting, Modern Pentathlon, Archery, Sport Climbing, Rowing, Rugby, Gymnastics, Roller Skating, Football, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Boxing, Triathlon, and Volleyball.

The non-Olympic sports are Bowling, Bridge, Cricket, Kabaddi, Martial Arts (including Jujitsu, Kurash, Pencak Silat, Sambo, and Wushu), Mechanical Sports (such as Paragliding and Jet skiing), Squash, and Sepak Takraw.
