Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Deputy Attorney General Arminsyah has awarded the 18th Asian Games mascots to Brunei Darussalam Attorney General Dato Paduka Haji Hoirul Arni bin Haji Abdul Majid.

Arminsyah handed over the mascots in Brunei Darussalam on the sidelines of bilateral meeting between leaders of law enforcement agencies of the two countries in Brunei Darussalam on Aug 14 and 15, 2018, according to the Attorney General Office`s spokesman, M Rum here on Wednesday.

The Asian Games mascots comprise Bhin Bhin, Atung, and Kaka, he said, adding that Bhin Bhin, wearing a vest with Asmat motifs from Papua, is a bird of paradise (Paradisaea Apoda) that represents strategy.

Meanwhile, Atung is a Bawean deer (Hyelaphus Kuhlii) that represents speed and wears a sarong with a "tumpal (batik) motif of Jakarta.

In addition, Kaka is a one-horned rhinoceros (Rhinoceros Sondaicus) that represents strength and wears traditional clothes with Palembang floral motifs.

The 2018 Asian Games is scheduled to be held from Aug 18 to Sept 2, 2018 in the cities of Jakarta and Palembang in South Sumatra Province.

Thousands of athletes and officials from 45 Asian countries have been registered for the Games.
