Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The National Defense Forces (TNI) is ready to back up the Indonesian Police in securing the Asian Games 2018, starting from ring one to ring four, TNI Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said.

TNI will deploy personnel from the Siliwangi Regional Military Command III for venues in Bandung, West Java; the Jakarta Regional Military Command for venues in the capital; and the Sriwijaya Regional Military Command II for venues in Palembang, South Sumatra, in order to assist the Asian Games security arrangements, he stated, after inspecting the preparations for the opening ceremony of the Asian Games 2018 at the Bung Karno Stadium and the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) along with Police Chief General Tito Karnavian on Saturday.

The soldiers who will assist the police in securing the Asian Games 2018 will be regular troops and special troops, he added.

"The Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) will be responsible for securing the ring one During the opening ceremony of the Asian Games tonight. Security devices have also been installed there," he noted.

The police will handle security arrangements during the opening ceremony of the Asian Games on Saturday night, except the security in the ring one, which is the responsibility of Paspampres, he remarked.

"God willing, everything will run smoothly. We checked all the systems and personnel this afternoon, and they already know their respective duties," he revealed.

The National police has installed more than 300 CCTVs capable of identifying visitors` faces in several points at the Bung Karno Stadium.

"We have installed more than 300 CCTVs capable of detecting human faces at the Bung Karno Stadium. From the footage, we can trace people`s names, addresses, and direct personal data," he explained.

The installment of the CCTV is aimed at minimizing vandalism and crimes at the Bung Karno Stadium, he pointed out.
