With the total weight of 410 kilograms, consisting of 189 kilograms in the snatch and 221 kilograms in the clean and jerk, Moradi clinched the gold medal. He also broke the Asian Games record of 400 kilograms set by Kazakhstan weightlifter Ahmetov.
In the second and third attempts, Moradi lifted 234 kilograms in the clean and jerk to break the Asian Games record of 226 kilograms set by Kazakhstan weightlifter Livin Ilya as well as his own Asian and world records of 233 kilograms.
If he manages to lift 234 kilograms, he would improve the Asian Games total weight record of 410 kilograms he has just set to 423 kilograms, as well as his own Asian and world total weight record of 417 kilograms.
Meanwhile, the silver medal went to Qatari weightlifter Fares Elbakh, with a total weight of 381 kilograms, comprising 166 kilograms in the snatch and 215 kilograms in the clean and jerk.
Thai weightlifter Sarat Sumpradit won the bronze medal after he managed to lift a total weight of 380 kilograms, consisting of 170 kilograms in the snatch and 210 kilograms in the clean and jerk.
