Rifki won the gold medal after defeating Iranian karateka Amir Mahdi Zadeh with a final score of 9-7.
In the qualifying round of 16 of the Kumite-60 kilogram category, Rifki defeated Thailand`s Sireka Siravit Sawangsri with a score of 5-1.
Then, in the final round of the big eight, he again defeated China`s karateka Hu Chen with a landslide score of 8-0.
He continued to advance, in the quarter-finals. Rifki met with karateka from Hong Kong and managed to beat him with a 3-0 score.
After defeating Hong Kong, Rifki advanced to the semifinals to face Malaysian karateka Prem Kumar Selvam. With a score of 4-4, Rifki successfully defeated the karateka from the neighboring country.
The victory finally led Rifki to the final round and faced with Iranian rustic Amir Mahdi Zadeh.
In the final match, Rifki once again showed his skills as a karateka and took home the gold medal.
