The head of state and his entourage began their walk from Lotte Hotel, where they are staying during their visit to South Korea, to the Cheongyecheon River in the middle of Seoul City, South Korea, around a kilometer from the hotel.
In addition, several Working Cabinet ministers, who joined the walk, included Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Safruddin, Head of the Creative Agency Triawan Munaf, and Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea Umar Hadi.
The president along with Iriana, wearing white shirts under red jackets and black trousers, enjoyed strolling the streets of the South Korean capital while answering several questions posed by Indonesians in Korea.
Upon arrival at the Cheongyecheon River, the president and his entourage were welcomed by Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon, who handed out bouquets of flowers.
After taking group photographs and greeting the residents, President Jokowi, accompanied by Mayor Won-soon, walked along the crystal-clear river that divides the South Korean capital.
The president was impressed by the measures taken by the Seoul city government to keep the river clean inside the Metropolitan City.
"I think this is a (nice look) that can be a demand, and we can (emulate the same) on the river in Jakarta, if we want to be able to," the president remarked.
