"However it is impossible to become the ICW President director at this time because three years ago in Turkey I was elected as the communication coordinator of the ICW`s Permanent Membership Committee. Now I can only be elected for a seat in the board of directors," Giwo said here on Tuesday.
Giwo has the opportunity to be elected as a member of the board of directors in the 35th General Assembly of ICW in Yogyakarta September 11-20 2018.
She made the statement after an interview by TVRI Yogyakarta television station for its 30 Minute Special Program in the runup to the implementation of the 35th General Assembly of ICW.
It is also held in conjuction with the National Meeting of One Thousand Indonesian Women`s Organizations in Yogyakarta September 11-20 2018.
In addition to Giwo, TVRI also presented Chairman of the Committee Gatot Subagio in the talkshow program.
Giwo said that after entering the ICW Board of Directors, at least she still needs six more years or two more periods to be elected President of the women organization.
She gave an example of Indonesian woman Kuraisin Sumhadi who had been the President of ICW for the period 1994-1997, after two periods or six years before serving as Vice President of ICW.
The 2015-2018 ICW Board of Directors currently consists of ICW President Jungsook Kim (South Korea), five Vice Presidents namely Elisabeth Newman and Hean Bee Wee (Australia), Doris Bingley (Malta), Lina Liu (Taiwan), and Christine Knock ( New Zealand), ICW Treasurer Martine Marandel (France), Secretary of ICW Nabiye Isin Atala (Turkey), and two members of the ICW Board of Directors Fatos Inal (Turkey) and Jamal Gibril Hermes (Lebanon).
In addition to the Board of Directors, in the ICW structure there are also Permanent Committee Members, regarding the status of women, sustainable development, general well-being, communications, and social issues.
Two Indonesian women who were also administrators of Kowani, Giwo Rubianto and Hadriani Uli Silalahi, each as Coordinator of the Standing Committee on Communication and the Coordinator of the Standing Committee on Sustainable Development.
In addition there is also an Indonesian woman, who is also an administrator of Kowani, namely Charletty Choesyana Taula who is advisor on the ageing affairs in the Standing Committee on Social Issues.
The coordinator of the ICW Standing Committee on Women`s Status is absent. The committee has five advisors, namely for the issue of human rights (Claudie Bougon-Guibert from France), the implementation of the convention (Vivi Germanos Koutsounadis from Australia), legislation (Christiane Tricot from France), and international relations and peace (Mazal Renford from France).
Coordinator of the Permanent Committee for the Sustainable Development Sector is Hadriani Uli Silalahi (Indonesia), with four advisors on women and labor (Mae Chu Chang from Taiwan), economics (seat is empty), consumer issues (empty), rural and urban women (Saida Zniber from Morocco )
Coordinator of Permanent Committee on General Welfare is Nadya Anna Mangion (Malta) with four health advisers (Lyudmila Porokhnyat from Ukraine), environment (Wendy Rainbird from Australia), habitat (Ayse Aysel from Turkey), and nutrition (Margaret Jip Kuo from Taiwan) .
Coordinator of the Standing Committee on Communication, Giwo Rubianto Wiyogo (Indonesia), with four advisors for education (seat empty), art and literature (Leone Christophersen from Australia), music (Eleonore Hauer-Rona from Austria), and mass media (Onja Rasamimanana from Madagascar) .
Coordinator of the Standing Committee on ICW Social Issues is Chularat Israngkool Na Ayutthaya (Thailand), with four advisors on children and families (Fran Cleaton-Jones from South Africa), youth (Chloe Hill from England), old age (Charletty Choesyana Taula from Indonesia ), and about migration (empty). *** 4 ***
