Ternate, N Maluku, (ANTARA News) - Wings Air has opened a new flight route from Oesman Syadik Labuha Airport in South Halmahera district, North Maluku province, to Pattimura International Airport in the Maluku provincial capital of Ambon.

The airline company has also increased the frequency of its flights from Labuha to Ternate, capital of North Maluku province, to twice a day, PT Wings Air manager Irwanto said in a press statement released on Thursday.

The opening of flight route is part of the effort to provide easy transportation to tourists wishing to visit South Halmahera, he said.

The airline company serves the Labuha-Ambon flight route using ATR 72/600 aircraft with a capacity of 72 passengers, The aircraft departs from Ternate at 07.00 a.m. local time and from Labuha at 09.25 a.m. local time. The aircraft returns to Ternate from Ambon ar 01.00 p.m. local time.
